The Infamous Herringbone Vest

flannel: L. L. Bean // vest: J. Crew // jeans: Vineyard Vines // watch: Daniel Wellington via CCP // boots: L.L. Bean (on backorder forever, get Sperry duck boots via CCP) // socks: J. Crew

My Daniel Wellington watch and duck boots similar to the ones I'm wearing are from Country Club Prep. If you would like 25% off your entire purchase at CCP, email me for the code (xcgal98@gmail.com). Act quick, after 12/31, the code will only give you a 20% discount.

L. L. Bean flannels are the best on the market and I swear by them. The material is very thick, and sure to keep you warm. J. Crew's vests and socks are another one of my favorites. You'd think that the herringbone vest would be hard to style, but I find myself wearing it with everything.

Claire, who blogs on Precious as a Peony, also styled her herringbone vest in a post. I absolutely love her blog + Instagram, and I am sure y'all will too! At the moment, our vest is sold out, but J. Crew Factory bring it back at the beginning of every fall season.

I wish everyone a merry Christmas! I challenge you all to remember the true meaning of Christmas and not get too attached to the physical gifts. Christmas is meant to be spent with your family and the ones you love while also remember why Jesus gave up his only son.

Daria

A Classic Christmas

dress: Vineyard Vines // belt: Vineyard Vines // heels: Steve Madden // bracelet: Kendra Scott

I am shocked that Christmas is just in two short days. This holiday season + entire year has flown by and Easter will be here before we know it. I wanted to do a Christmas post, and thought a red dress would be perfect for a classic + timeless look. Looking for more holiday outfit inspiration? Check out my holiday lookbook

Renee also styled a classic red dress for Christmas on her blog, Gimme Glamour. I absolutely love her blog + style, and I'm sure y'all will too. Check out the collab post we did last year.

Festive in Tartan

top: J. Crew // skirt: J. Crew (sold out) // vest: J. Crew // necklace: J. Crew // watch: Kate Spade // bracelet: Kendra Scott // boots: Frye via Country Club Prep (email me at xcgal98@gmail.com for 25% off)

Christmas is right around the corner, so I've been feeling very festive. I've been loving this skirt because it's a classic style in a classic print (click here to see it styled in a different outfit). I'm a big fan of J. Crew's painter tees and quilted vests; getting every color is not a bad idea as they are versatile and go with everything.

Lucy also did a blog post styling her tartan skirt. How cute?! Y'all will love her blog and Instagram (@dailydoseof_prep). Definitely check it out & give Lucy a follow! Tell her I sent you ;).

Missed my other holiday posts?

I know posts on the blog have been scattered lately, but I have several exciting collab posts launching over the next month + many awesome videos planned!

Cyber Monday Sales

Cyber Monday has brought along deals that top Black Friday!! Honestly, I never thought Cyber Monday would surpass Black Friday. In a few years, Black Friday may not be a thing, and Cyber Monday may replace the madness. I have provided you with a list of all the best deals and a section on the best wardrobe essentials for unbeatable prices. I spent a lot of time making widgets via ShopStyle showcasing image carousels of my favorite products from every site, but sadly, ShopStyle is bugged and they were ALL deleted. I am very frustrated and sad my effort and time for this post went down the drain. However, let's think positive about the great Cyber Monday deals.
  • eBates // Get a percentage of cash back from every site you shop on this Cyber Monday! This is absolutely free & free money, so you would be foolish not to use eBates. Many sites give a large % of cash back (i.e. J. Crew; 10%, J. Crew Factory; 9%, Nordstrom; 6%).
  • Anthropologie // 20% off + free shipping (XTRAGOOD)
  • Banana Republic // 40% off (BESTCYBER)
  • Country Club Prep // 25% off + free shipping (email me at xcgal98@gmail.com for the 25% off discount code)
  • Forever 21 // 21% off + free shipping (CYBER21)
  • Gap // 40% off (BESTCYBER)
  • J. Crew // 30-40% off + free shipping (MONDAY)
  • J. Crew Factory // 50% off + additional 15% off + free shipping (TODAYONLY)
  • Kate Spade // 30% off (SHINE)
  • Kendra Scott // 15% off (SALE15)

  • Lilly Pulitzer // free gift with purchase (new gift every hour)
  • Madewell // 25% off (SHOPATWORK)
  • Loft // 50% off + free shipping (CYBER50)
  • Nordstrom // huge 50% off sale (Kate SpadeKendra Scott, Ray-Ban, Tory Burch)
  • Old Navy // 40% off (BESTCYBER)
  • Ralph Lauren // $25 off $125; $75 off $250; $175 off $500; $275 off $750 (CYBER15)
  • Southern Proper // 30% off (HUNTER) // for 15% off anytime of the year (XCGAL98)
  • Tory Burch // 30% off $250 (THANKS)
  • Urban Outfitters // $15 off $75, $50 off $150
  • Vineyard Vines // 25% off & 40% off sale (THANKS2015)
  • My Closet // Shop my closet on Poshmark for a huge sale with most items being $10 or under. If you use code "BONCX" when signing up for Poshmark with the mobile app, you'll get $10 off your first purchase making many items in my closet FREE! I can also give you $1.99 shipping if you ask about it. I highly encourage bundles and currently am doing an extra 15% off if you bundle 3 items or more (you have to use poshmark's bundle feature for this, let me know if you have questions).
Save BIG on Wardrobe Essentials // Note that I did not mention all wardrobe essentials in the following paragraphs (only the awesome deals)!

J. Crew NEVER does 40% off; it's unheard of!! You also get 10% back with eBates (so FIFTY 50% OFF!!!) Now is an awesome time to stock up on wardrobe staples (note that price don't include the 10% you're getting back). My personal favorites are the painter tees; $23.70, quilted vests; $72 (I have the factory version of the navy & khaki, so I decied to upgrade to the retail version), pixie pants; $54, chino shorts; $23.70, cable knit sweaters; $52.80, vintage cotton tanks; $17.15 & v-necks; $17.70, camp socks; $9.90, tippi sweaters; $55.65, and majesty peacoat; $143.99.

I've never seen do J. Crew Factory do so many deals at once!! You also get 9% back through eBates so you're saving (50+15+9=74) 74% (note that price don't include the 9% you're getting back)!!! It is definitely time to stock up on wardrobe classics here (if you're willing to lose some quality for price). Some items do not differ in quality too much.. like the vests (as long as you don't miss the gold buttons), but the chino shorts are very thin. I love the painter tees; $12.33, quilted vests: solid; $41.65 & patterned; $42.08, pixie pants; $35.70, chino shorts; $16.58, paper bag skirts: solid; $31.45 & patterned; $26.78, and camp socks; $5.95.

Riding Boots are a necessity to your wardrobe; I recommend Frye; $261 or Tory Burch (1; $262.48 // 2; $238). Jack Rogers; $92.30 are a must for the Summer; I love the platinum. Barbour (beadnell wax jacket; $300) makes awesome coats to last a life time. You can't go wrong with the Ray-Ban clubmasters; $105. Ralph Lauren classic oxfords are my go-to. Also, I love the Anthropolgie initial mugs (1; $7.50 // 2; $6 // 3; $6) and Life is Good tire covers for Christmas gifts (1; $21 // 2; $21 // 3; $21, 4; $21).

Best of luck with your shopping & happy Cyber Monday! Let me know the best deal you got.

Flannels & Boots

flannel: L. L. Bean // pixie pants: J. Crew // cowboy boots: Justin // scarf: J. Crew // watch: Kate Spade // elephant bracelet: RocksBox // other bracelet: Lily & Laura

This look is definitely more casual verses other outfit posts I've done on the blog, but it's quick & easy, so I thought it was worth a share! All you really need is a flannel, chunky knit scarf, & cowboy boots. L. L. Bean flannels are my favorite; very well made and a thick fabric to keep you warm. Chunky knit scarves have been in for the past several seasons, and can be found almost anywhere. I have several colors, and happened to catch mine on sale for $10 a piece at J. Crew Factory last year. Not only are they functional for their warmth, but they seem to match everything.

You might think I'm wearing leggings, but that's where you're wrong. I'm sporting the J. Crew pixie pant; a thick knit ponte pant with the comfort of leggings, but thickness & warmth of pants. These have been all the rage for a few years, and I just got mine this season; definitely worth all the hype. I am not a fan of leggings because I feel they show too much, but I love the pixie pant! I've had my cowboy boots for over 4 years now, and they're still going strong. Justin makes very high quality boots that will last forever. If cowboy boots aren't your style, you could definitely add riding boots instead.

As for my watch, I wear this everyday & you're likely tired of hearing about it. However, my elephant bracelet is by Alice + Olivia which I got from my November RocksBox. RocksBox is a monthly subscription service where you are sent 3 pieces of jewelry on loan every month, and can purchase your favorite pieces at a discounted price if you like (here is a post all about RocksBox). Use code "xcgalxoxo" to get your first month of RocksBox free.

What's your go-to lazy fall outfit?

The Classics

oxford: Polo // jeans: Vineyard Vines // rain boots: Vineyard Vines // watch: Daniel Wellington (c/o)

My favorite shirt of all time is Polo's classic slim fit oxford, without a doubt. Not only are they classic, and something you can wear forever, but they match everything and transition to all seasons. I own every color in solid and striped; it's extremely easy to get hooked. Thus being said, I've been wearing this style of shirt from Polo for the past 6 years (that's a long time when you're 17). Not once have I gotten tired of this style of shirt, and I never will, because it's a classic.

If you're not familiar with Daniel Wellington watches, it's about high time you check them out. I love mine because the band is interchangeable with several styles or ribbon and leather bands to chose from. Every time you change your watch band, it's like you got a new watch. Daniel Wellington watches are available on Country Club Prep, email me at xcgal98@gmail.com for a special promo.

Everyone needs a good pair of dark-wash skinny jeans. I recently picked up a new pair of jeans from Vineyard Vines's new denim line. I got the "super skinny," and much to my surprise, they are my go-to pair of jeans. A sturdy pair of rain boots are an essential to any closet. I recommend Hunters or the Vineyard Vines wellies. The Vineyard Vines boots are a bit shorter than the tall Hunters.

What are the classics in your wardrobe?

Sunday Shopping

J. Crew

Vineyard Vines

This week, both J. Crew & Vineyard Vines launched their Holiday lines and I'm in love. J. Crew released several new button-downs and that's the last thing my closet needs, but they're gorgeous. I'm particularly excited about those red socks, as they'd be perfect for bean boots. Also, factory released their version of the elephant skirt, will definitely be adding that to my wardrobe.

On to Vineyard Vines, I am blown away!! They have outdone themselves and this is my favorite collection yet. Several of the holiday pieces remind me of Kate Spade (but a much lower price point), and they're calling my name. I am very impressed by all of the plaid and new vests. If I wasn't trying to downsize my closet, I might buy it all. Also, Vineyard Vines won't format with ShopStyle, so I had to get creative with the layout.

What are you loving for Holiday fashion?

Apple Picking

Last weekend, I made a trip up to Blue Ridge to go apple picking with my friend. My family and I have been going to Mercier Orchards for years, and it's definitely our favorite. In the fall, they have great orchards for apple picking, and strawberry & blueberry fields in the Summer seasons. If you're ever in the area, definitely pick some apples for yourself and a few items from their store. All the apples I picked were fresh & delicious! I recommend the apple cider donuts, apple cider, apple fritters, & peanut brittle if you stop by the store.

The farm itself is absolutely gorgeous! After you finish apple picking, take time to hike & explore the rest of the land. I can assure you will not be disappointed with the fall foliage & scenery. If you get lucky, you might even get to see some ducks & geese (which happen to be very friendly).

Aside from Mercier Orchards, Blue Ridge is a day trip on its own. Blue Ridge has many unique attractions, shops, & restaurants. If you go in the Summer time, you can also go tubing or white water rafting. Blue Ridge is also a great place to get a cabin. Juliana's, one of my favorite boutiques, happens to have a location in Blue Ridge. Southern Charm has some of the best fried chicken & sweet tea. I also recommend the Sweet Shop for amazing cupcakes.

Sadly, the wait for lunch at Southern Charm was too long, so I settled on gluten free Margherita pizza. It definitely didn't compare to Southern Charm, but it was really good! Also, I got a little too excited when I found a moose topiary (moose are one of my favorite animals).  We had a great day trip!

If you follow me on Instagram (@dariasmithyt), you would've already seen many of these photos. Definitely be sure to follow along so you can check items off my Fall bucket list me, using the hashtag #fallingwithdaria.
