48 Hours in Hilton Head

I stayed in Hilton Head a few weekends ago with my parents and thought I would share some of my favorite things on the island!

Where to Stay

Sea Pines Resort
There is so much to do in Sea Pines, so I recommend staying here. Sea Pines is my favorite spot on the island. The resort is very nice! If you do not stay in Sea Pines, it is $6 for a day pass- there are so many things you are going to want to do/see in here.

Dining

Skull Creek Boathouse
Skull Creek is an upscale restaurant, and a great place to watch the sunset. They have great seafood, and I also recommend the sushi. You really can't go wrong with anything on this menu.

Grilled Salmon BAT - (Bacon, Avocado, + Tomato) + Sweet Potato Fries
This is my favorite and I get it almost every time I go! The sweet potato fries are so good.

Pecan Crusted Mahi Mahi

This is a great family restaurant, and everyone in the family loved it. It's right next to Skull Creek, in the same parking lot. All of the seafood is great, and there's also an awesome dessert menu.

The Salty Dog Cafe is well known for its tee shirts and sweatshirts throughout the country. This is definitely known as a tourist trap to the locals, but worth going once if you've never been. If you just want a shirt, there is a separate tee shirt factory elsewhere on the island. This restaurant is also in Sea Pines ($6 entry for a day pass), right by Harbour Town. Along with the cafe, you can also get ice cream and pizza right next door. There is a beautiful dock and view of the ocean, so I recommend dining outside. The food isn't all it's hyped up to be, but it is good. If you're of age, Salty Dog is known for having a good drink selection. The entire area is very cute, and I recommend going if you are in Sea Pines.

Pineapple Smoothie (non-alcoholic)

Mahi Mahi Dog

Fish Tacos

This is such a neat place! No where else can you find great Mexican food and great coffee.

This is a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant with amazing and affordable seafood.

I come here for the amazing avocado toast with mashed avocado, tomatoes, egg, and pumpkin seeds. Toast with Nutella and fruit is also available. The coffee is also pretty great. The toast is pretty filling, and one could even be split in between two people. Stop by this place if you're looking for an Instagram-worthy breakfast. This coffee shop is in Coligny Plaza with a ton of shops, right next to Coligny Beach.

Smash Toast (Top: Berry, Bottom: Avocado)

This is a cute coffee shop with great brunch, coffee, and smoothies.

There are so many food spots on the island that I am dying to try, but here are some of my favorites so far.

Things to Do

Harbour Town
Harbour Town is located in Sea Pines, so it is $6 for a day pass if you aren't staying there. Harbour Town has a lighthouse; it's small and you have to pay to go to the top. However, it is very pretty. There's a Yacht Club with a great view of the water and a ton of cute shops.

Baynard Plantation Ruins
If you're already in Sea Pines, this is a quick stop and you might as well check it out.

Sea Pines Forest Preserve
This area is very pretty, and there are a ton of trails back here if you're a hiker. This is also located inside Sea Pines.

Coligny Beach
This beach is right next to Coligny Plaza with a bunch of shops and restaurants. It's a great spot for free, public beach access.

If you are wanting to check out small shops, go to Coligny Plaza and Harbour Town. There is not a ton to do on this small island, but it's great for a weekend trip. Do not travel here unless you enjoy spending time on the beach. Hilton Head has nice beaches.

Let me know if y'all would be interested in seeing more travel posts! I would be more than happy to do one for the city of Savannah.

xx,
Daria
