Finding True Love

2:58:00 AM

It's 2:19am on Christmas day and I can't sleep, but there's a reason for that. I need to write this post and it needs to go up today, God has put a message on my heart to share with you all. So often in today's society, we lose the simple idea of Christmas and overcomplicate and manipulate the idea from what it really is. We have done the same thing with love. Love is not found in the amount of money put towards a gift nor in the romantic feeling that you're most likely thinking of. The purest and most simple form of love is when God sent his only son to be born to a virgin girl, in a manger. Our loving God humbled himself to come to Earth in a flesh form, and sacrificed his only son so that our sins could be wiped away, that is grace. With this, God has given us the Christmas gift of peace, joy, and of course eternal life. 1 John 4:8 says that "God is love." It's not that we loved God, but he loved us (1 John 4:10). Even if your Earthly biological family isn't peachy keen, we are born again when we accept Christ as our savior, into a new family as a child of God, surrounded by our brothers and sisters in Christ. Those who truly know Jesus and have an intimate relationship with him love others. We love because Christ first loved us (1 John 4:19). That's how much God loves you- that's true love. God is already writing the greatest love story ever written, and you're the main character. Our loving God invites you to be a part of his story and wishes so deeply to cultivate an intimate relationship with you, that's true love.

The birth of Jesus Christ did not have Christmas trees and the focus was not on gifts. People from all over Israel were coming to the king's birth to bring our savior, baby Jesus Christ, gifts that were fit for a king- which I would assume is where us humans got the idea to exchange presents. The true meaning of Christmas is the purest form of love that Jesus wiped away our sins, and that's what we're celebrating- not the tacky Christmas sweaters, Christmas carols, holiday lights, or any of the worldly things that we've added to the idea of Christmas. It's so easy to forget the simple idea of Christmas, we all need to be reminded what is really essential to celebrating today. Christmas is a simple act of God with the gift of God. The essentials to life are love, grace, family, and purpose. Without love, there is no God, and thus we have no purpose to live. If you haven't realized it yet, God is waiting for you to realize that he's already proved to you how much he loves you- through the birth and gift of Jesus along with his death on the cross. We find our worth in God's love, which propels us towards our purpose. Grace is the fact that our conscious is clean and God erased all of our sins- he payed our debt and called us friends, and there's nothing we could ever do to measure up to what God already did on the cross. Merry Christmas, Christ gives us the gift of grace forever! God put the story of love and grace into the family of Mary and Joseph. Our purpose is to glorify God when we find are worth in Jesus Christ, causing us to love God and love others. All you have to do is say yes to God's gift of love. Christmas is such a simple and beautiful concept,  let's remember to celebrate the true meaning this year.

Merry Christmas!

xx,
Daria
